Malta is a southern European island, and one of the world’s smallest countries, situated in the Mediterranean Sea between Libya and Italy. The country is a member of the EU and Eurozone and has many beneficial provisions for international businesses, such as a large number of double taxation agreements with other countries. Significant contributions were made to the island’s economy over the last decade due to openness to global trade and investment.
